Crystal Palace 2-1 Liverpool: Arne Slot’s post-match press conference

Liverpool boss Arne Slot faced the media after his side fell to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, a result that dented their early-season momentum.
“It’s a very disappointing result,” Slot admitted. “We started slowly, and Palace took full advantage. We were second best in key moments, and at this level, you get punished.”
Crystal Palace opened the scoring early through Jean-Philippe Mateta, and despite a second-half equaliser from Mohamed Salah, a late strike from Eberechi Eze sealed the win for the hosts.
Slot acknowledged his side’s inconsistency. “We had a strong reaction after halftime. The equaliser gave us belief, but then we lost focus again. The second goal was avoidable — we were too open, and we didn’t track the runners.”
Asked about his team’s attacking performance, Slot said: “We created chances, but lacked the clinical edge. Credit to Palace — they defended well and made it difficult for us to find space.”
The Dutchman also addressed defensive lapses. “We need to defend as a team. That includes our midfield and forwards. We can’t rely only on the back four.”
Slot remained calm despite the setback. “It’s a long season. Of course, we’re frustrated, but it’s about how we respond. We’ll analyse the game, work on the mistakes, and come back stronger.”
He ended with a message to the fans: “They travelled in numbers and supported us throughout. We owe them a better performance next time.”
Liverpool will look to bounce back in their next fixture at Anfield.

Liverpool, under Arne Slot, are also expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 setup.

The upcoming clash between Chelsea and Liverpool promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both managers expected to field strong yet tactically flexible lineups. Chelsea are likely to set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Robert Sánchez in goal and a backline consisting of Reece James, Benoît Badiashile, Jorrel Hato, and Marc Cucurella. In midfield, Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández will anchor the team, providing stability and control. The attacking trio behind the striker could feature Estêvão Willian, Pedro Neto, and Facundo Buonanotte, supporting João Pedro up front. Injuries in defense mean Enzo Maresca may rely on younger players for depth.
Liverpool, under Arne Slot, are also expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 setup. Giorgi Mamardashvili will replace the injured Alisson in goal, protected by Conor Bradley, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, and Milos Kerkez. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister are likely to partner in midfield, while Dominik Szoboszlai plays just behind striker Alexander Isak. Mohamed Salah will start on the right wing, with Florian Wirtz on the left if fully fit. Both teams will aim to dominate possession and attack with pace, setting the stage for an intense Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool will head into today’s match missing several key players due to injuries and fitness concerns.

Liverpool will head into today’s match missing several key players due to injuries and fitness concerns. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains sidelined with a hamstring injury and is not expected to return until after the upcoming international break, leaving a major gap between the posts. In defense, Giovanni Leoni is ruled out for the entire season following a serious knee injury, limiting Arne Slot’s options at the back. Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa is dealing with a minor muscle issue and has not been able to complete full training sessions, making him unavailable for selection. Hugo Ekitiké is also a doubt after sustaining a slight knock during the recent match against Galatasaray, and the medical team is assessing his condition before deciding on his involvement. These absences mean Liverpool will likely rely on backup players and younger talents to fill key roles. Arne Slot will need to adjust his tactics carefully to maintain the team’s rhythm and intensity, especially with several attacking and defensive stars missing. Despite these setbacks, Liverpool will look to show resilience and depth as they aim to secure a positive result in this crucial Premier League fixture.

EZE to arsenal fans saying that if he doesn’t play today match no winning for them

Eberechi Eze is expected to play a key role in today’s match involving Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options. The versatile midfielder has been in impressive form and could be deployed on the left wing to complement Martin Ødegaard’s creativity in the center. Arteta faces a tactical decision on whether to start both Eze and Ødegaard together, as their combination could bring fluidity and unpredictability to Arsenal’s attack. Eze’s dribbling ability, pace, and eye for goal make him a valuable asset, especially against defensive teams that sit deep. His inclusion would also add more balance to Arsenal’s transitions, allowing the team to switch quickly from defense to attack. However, Arteta may also opt for a more cautious setup, rotating Eze to the bench and introducing him later in the game to exploit tired defenders. The decision will depend largely on the opponent’s setup and Arsenal’s recent form. Regardless, Eze’s presence in the squad boosts competition for attacking places and provides Arteta with tactical flexibility. Fans are eager to see how Eze’s flair and creativity will influence the team’s overall performance in this crucial fixture.
