Just When Liverpool Fans Thought Injuries Were Over… Another Blow Strikes
International breaks often bring nervous moments for Liverpool fans. Players who are carefully monitored under the club’s medical and coaching systems suddenly step into different setups, where routines change and the risk of injury rises.

Since Arne Slot took charge in 2024, Liverpool have seen far fewer fitness issues. His training methods and clever rotation policy helped the Reds secure the Premier League title last season. Still, one player remains at the centre of fitness concerns — Conor Bradley.
The young right-back has already endured a stop-start beginning to the 2025–26 campaign. He has made only one appearance for Liverpool so far, and while international duty gave him valuable minutes, it also raised fresh worries.

Bradley featured heavily for Northern Ireland in September, clocking 167 minutes across two matches. His best display came against Germany, despite Northern Ireland’s 3-1 defeat, where Florian Wirtz netted a brilliant free-kick.
The Belfast Telegraph rated Bradley as one of the team’s top performers, awarding him an eight out of ten. He earned praise for his discipline and strong tackling, though one challenge did bring a yellow card. More importantly, he needed treatment for a facial knock. Although he played on and completed the game, Liverpool’s medical staff will be monitoring him closely as the Premier League action returns.
This season was supposed to be Bradley’s breakthrough, especially after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s high-profile move to Real Madrid. At 22, he was widely expected to cement his place at right-back and build on the flashes of talent he has already shown.
Micah Richards’ description of him back in April as a “special” player still lingers. With pace, aggression, and one-on-one defending ability, Bradley offers something different in Slot’s squad. Yet injuries have repeatedly slowed his progress and prevented him from establishing a regular starting role.

Liverpool meet Burnley on Sunday, leaving Slot with a decision to make. The international break may have boosted Bradley’s match sharpness, but his place is far from assured. Dominik Szoboszlai has impressed when filling in at right-back recently, while Jeremie Frimpong is close to returning from injury.
Slot has options at his disposal, but if Bradley gets the all-clear, expectations will be high for him to at least feature in the matchday squad.

Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight after revealing that William Saliba and some of his teammates were watching
🗣️ Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight after revealing that William Saliba and some of his teammates were watching Atletico Madrid’s recent match on the team bus in preparation for Arsenal’s upcoming fixture. The Arsenal manager said he didn’t instruct the players to do it — the idea came entirely from them — and he couldn’t be happier with their attitude. Arteta praised their professionalism and commitment, saying that such initiative shows how focused and determined the squad is to succeed at the highest level.
He explained that facing a team like Atletico Madrid requires early preparation and understanding of their playing style, and seeing players like Saliba take that responsibility on their own reflects the strong mentality growing within the group. Arteta described it as a sign of maturity and leadership, noting that the team’s desire to learn and improve every day is what makes them special. The manager added that this self-driven approach is exactly what he wants from his squad — players who think ahead, stay engaged, and constantly push themselves. Arteta concluded by saying that this kind of initiative shows Arsenal are evolving into a team capable of competing with Europe’s best.
